MYSTERY surrounds Swindon Town’s return to training today.

With Town set to back to training, there is still ambiguity surrounding who will be running the session, which players will be turning up and the venue those players will be gather at.

Despite Calne Town Council having given the green light last week for Swindon Town to use the Beversbrook Sports Facility, there has been no announcement, from either the club or the council, as to whether a deal has been signed.

The future of manager Mark Cooper is also still up in the air, with Sheffield Wednesday confident of thrashing out a compensation package for the Town boss and bookmakers BetVictor putting assistant manager Luke Williams as 1/8 favourite to take the helm at the County Ground.

Meanwhile, there has been little news on new signings to replace the ten players who were released at the end of their contracts, including first team regulars Andy Williams, who has since agreed terms with Doncaster, and Wes Foderingham, who is still weighing up his options.

That is before you count the departures of Massimo Luongo and Ben Gladwin to QPR and the rumours linking Nathan Byrne, Yaser Kasim and Michael Smith with moves away from the club.

The only new face that is expected at training is former Arsenal youngster Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, but that deal is not expected to be announced until July 1.

The club remain tight-lipped over the future of Mark Cooper, but are hoping to announce a development on the training ground today.
