AFTER announcing himself on the world stage during Australia’s victorious 2015 Asian Cup campaign, Swindon Town star Massimo Luongo believes his big game experience will give him the edge at Wembley.

The midfielder was named the Most Valuable Player at the Asian Cup after scoring two goals and assisting four, prompting Luongo to be linked with several Premier League clubs.

However, the 22-year-old is fully focused on securing Championship status for the Robins and told the Advertiser that he has already spoken to some of his teammates about what to expect on Sunday.

“The feeling in the camp is good, the boys aren’t stressing, they are calm and talking about everything but the game. I have spoken to the lads about the big game experience, but there is nothing I’ve stressed,” said Luongo.

“I think they are all a good bunch of lads and they naturally don’t get caught up in the moment. We are all quite calm and we are a laid back squad, we just enjoy playing football.

“Personally, the Asian Cup was probably the biggest crowd I have played in front of and I didn’t know how it was going to hit me, but I loved every minute - the good and the bad. When I enjoy playing and use it to my advantage, I play better.

“At Wembley the atmosphere is going to put everyone on a different level as well.

“All we can worry about and all we can control is how we play and how we adapt to the game.”
