WES Foderingham has learned from his previous Wembley experience and is ready guide Town into the Championship.

Swindon’s number one played in the 2012 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final defeat against Chesterfield and believes the lessons from that day will be valuable in Sunday’s play-off final.

Despite his tender years – Foderingham is still only 24 – it has been said a lot this season how mature a player he is. Now the keeper wants to put that know-how to use for one final push for promotion.

“I think the JPT final experience will help,” explains Foderingham to the Advertiser.

“I know what to expect now and what to expect from the occasion on the day and everything surrounding the game, so it won’t be something new to me.

“There is nothing that can quite prepare you for a play-off final and I think the main thing is to go there and play the game and not the occasion and focus on the job in hand.

“There are a couple of older heads in the dressing room, so this week leading up to the game then I’m sure we will speak a little bit more to those who have not played there before.

“On the day is when us older heads will need to be a little bit more vocal and telling the boys the right things that they need to hear and if they need any advice or little tips out on the pitch.”
