CHIPPENHAM Park were left to rue a last-minute equaliser as Roman Glass St George snatched a point on Friday.

Mark Robinson had given Park the lead early in the second half, turning home Mark Nolan's free-kick.

Victory seemed on the cards for the home side, only for Roman Glass to level the scores in the dying seconds, much to the annoyance of boss Dave Ferris: He said: “It was a very good game. Roman Glass didn’t come to make up the numbers but if I am being brutally honest I am disappointed we’ve dropped two points.

“They started quite quickly and were bright and breezy without really causing us a lot of trouble.

“We took a few minutes to sort ourselves out and from there until half-time it was fast free flowing football from both sides. and I think 0-0 at the break was a fair reflection.

“We came out brighter in the second half and played some good football and deserved to go in front and from there we could still be playing now and they wouldn’t have scored but with 15 seconds to go they got a free-kick.

“The referee had a superb game and decided just to let the players play and the whistle probably only went a couple of times the whole match.

“However, he gave a free-kick for a pull but there had been worse instances of that throughout the game which were let go.

“Unfortunately my lads lost the plot and totally switched off, and the ball was floated across the goal and headed in with pretty much the last touch.”
