DAVE Ferris conceded that Chippenham Park failed to reach the heights of their previous away games after falling to a 2-0 defeat at Warminster Town.

Park had won each of their last five matches on the road but we badly out of sorts at Weymouth Street and never looked like extending that run.

Otis Young capitalised on a defensive error to give Warminster the lead midway through the first half and they made the points safe with an own goal in the dying minutes.

Boss Ferris said: “It’s very disappointing, not so much the result but the manner of the goals we conceded as they came from our own mistakes.

“Apart from the two goals that they scored I don’t think there was a real shot on goal, and I can’t remember either keeper really having to make a save .”We probably got the ball to our forward line far more than Warminster did but we didn’t do anything with it.

“In the final third we were very disappointing. We relinquished possession too easily or hat silly shots from distance.

“Was it a totally poor performance? Maybe not, but unless you score and don’t concede you have to say it is a poor performance.”

Park return to action at home to league leaders Welton Rovers on Tuesday night.
