With the Bristol Avon in flood, Sunday’s Airsprung match was switched to the Kennet & Avon Canal at Moulton Drive where Vic Abbott, from Bradford, won with 3 lb 10 oz of roach, skimmers and perch, writes COLIN SCULL.

Dean Adams, from Bradford, was next with 3 lb 3 oz of skimmers and perch followed by Bill Turner, from Trowbridge, with 1 lb 1 oz of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 4. Andy Fox Hilperton 13 oz; 5. Kevin Hatter Trowbridge 10 oz; 6. Mike White Trowbridge 9 oz.

SUNDAY’S Chippenham match on the Bristol Avon was won by Jesse Edwards, from Calne, with 7 lb 7 oz of chub and perch.

John Bohane, from Swindon, was runner up spot with 5 lb 10 oz of roach, skimmers and perch followed by George Hobbs, from Malmesbury, with 4 lb 15 oz of chub.

Other placings: 4. Kevin Williams Chippenham 3 lb 10 oz; 5. Ian Liddell Chippenham 3 lb 7 oz; 6. Alex Hyde Chippenham 1 lb 12 oz.

Overall series winner: Ian Liddell 113 points.

THE Lavington silver fish only match on Sunday at Ellis Lake was won by Terry Fell, from Devizes, with 6 lb of bream and roach.

Kevin Norris, from Devizes, took runner up spot with a single bream weighing 2 lb 12 oz and Paul Crayford, from Calne, took third with 1 lb 10 oz of roach.

Other placings: 4. Mark Easey West Lavington and Steve Southern Trowbridge 2 oz each.

DESPITE poor weather conditions at Shearwater for the Wilts Angling Open match, Pete Neate, from Holt, returned from illness to win with 50 lb 4 oz of bream.

Melksham’s Rickie Tomala was runner up with 48 lb 4 oz of bream and Steve Hutchinson, from Colerne, was third with 37 lb of bream.

Other placings: 4. Mick Gunning Trowbridge 33 lb 4 oz; 5. Matt Skyrme Trowbridge 32 lb 5 oz; 6. Martin Preston Viaduct 31 lb.
