MARLBOROUGH remain eight points clear at the top of the table, although their bonus-point win was marred by two injuries.

There were two tries each for Avenai Cakaunitavuki, Russ Westcott and Jonny Mantle, while Waisale Navunidakua, Patch Campbell, Amori Nailago, Jack Wright and George Heard also touched down.

Nathan Morgan booted four conversions and Westcott and Nailago one each, but were also hit by injuries to Wright (ankle) and Campbell (shoulder).

Meanwhile, the Common-based club has taken delivery of a new Predator scrum machine as they look to progress to Southern Counties level next season.

The club’s MIke Banfield said: “Obviously with our coach Chris Budgen, the ex-Northampton Saints and Exeter Chiefs prop, we will benefit from his vast experience with this new machine.

“It is part of our ongoing plan to develop the playing side of the club and sustain our high standard of play.
