BRADFORD boss Phil Parkinson is in a confident mood as he brings his team south to face Swindon Town.

The Bantams have lost just two of their last fifteen league games and embarked on a glorious cup run that saw them produce on the biggest shocks in FA Cup history, coming back from 2-0 down to beat Premier League Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

It seems the cup run has intertwined with a change in fortune with the dramatic change in form. Finding themselves 1-0 down after three minutes against Conference side Halifax back in November, Parkinson’s side came back to win 2-1 and have lost just twice since.

After Saturday’s draw at Walsall, Bradford are now back in the top six and will be aiming to repeat success of the 2012-13 season where they combined an unlikely run to the League Cup final with promotion via the play-offs.

Parkinson sees Bradford and Town as two sides on the opposite end of the form table and is looking to take advtantage of Swindon’s low confidence.

“They’ve lost a little bit of touching distance with the top two and we’ll go down there in a confident frame of mind after the last few away games,” said the Bradford boss.

“Obviously they play three at the back and have a quite distinctive way of setting up the team and we’ve got to be prepared for that.

“The mentality on our travels has been very good and it’s absolutely crucial that we keep that.

“Every time we go away, we can’t carry anybody in the team and this will be no different.”

Bradford’s squad will likely feature teenage winger Oliver Burke who joined the club on loan yesterday to cover for the hamstring injury picked up by midfielder Filipe Morais’ at the Bescot Stadium on Saturday.

It is understood 17-year-old Burke, is unlikely to start, with the burden for midfield creativity falling on former Town loanee Mark Yeates.

Parkinson said on the capture of Burke: “I just feel we need more pace in this period of games.”

Also unavailable for Parkinson are key men Andrew Davies and James Hanson.
