I LIKE the cup because it means that we are playing more games and we are not training as hard, I would rather play games than train.

I am enjoying the cup run we are on because it is intense hockey and it is do or die.

With the play-offs being so short at the end of the year it is not often that you get to be involved in games where you win or you are out.

We don’t often get the chance to go for silverware because there is always quite a rigid top four.

I think Telford have shaken it up a bit with the way they have shot off and I think it is certainly a lot more even behind them and that has given us an opportunity to go for the cup.

It is something we want to do for the fans. Winning silverware is good for the fans and good for the team really.

Something is going right at the club. Ryan Aldridge and Steve Nell have worked hard to put a good team together and it is nice to try and repay them by being more successful than we have been.

Because it was the first leg on Wednesday there was certainly a bit of caution from both teams.

I don’t think we played as well as we can. Stevie Lyle had a really good game and we don’t want him to have to play that well every time.

He has given us a chance and it is a one-off game now and we’ll go there and work hard and hopefully make the final.

Since I have been here it was the first time we have gone there and won the last time we played.

They have always been tight games and I think it is going to be a battle up there to make the final.

I think that is a bit of a wake-up call we needed. Not that we went lightly, but that should push us on a bit more.

It should be pretty intense and I am looking forward to it.
