TOWN loanee Jack Stephens' deal will be extended until the end of the season, as soon as the Premier League ratifies the move.

Stephens’ loan extension is an issue that the club have been confident they would sort out, with boss Mark Cooper, chairman Lee Power and the player and all maintaining over the last month that it was as simple bit of form-filling.

It appears the clubs have finalised their paperwork and now it is over to the Premier League, home of Stephens' parent club Southampton, to sign off on the deal. That is usually a formality and the defender expected to be available for Saturday’s trip to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United.

When asked about the deal, Cooper told the local media: “Jack Stephens has been agreed with Southampton, we’re just waiting for the paperwork to come back from the Premier League.”
