DAUNTSEY’S School teacher Allister Sheffield clinched victory in Sunday’s Slaughterford 9 near Corsham.
Geography master Sheffield stopped the clock in 56 minutes and 51 seconds to finish nearly half a minute ahead of Guy Woods, who also lifted the vet male 50 prize, coming home in 57: 19.
In third place was Sheffield’s Team Bath AC teammate James Donald, who came home in 58:11.
Team Bath’s Barry Awan, in 1:02.05 was the first male vet 40-49 home in ninth position overall, closely followed by clubmate Martin Ford in 1:02:24.
Chepstow Harriers’ Niki Morgan was the first female runner home in 1:08.29, finishing 36th overall and also clinching the first vet female 45 prize.
Team Bath’s Zosia Brown was the next home – and the first senior female – in 43rd position in 1:09.30.
She was followed by Bitton Road Runners’ Lynette Porter in 1:12.59.
Nearly 350 runners took part in the event, which started from Rudloe’s Leafy Lane.
