BRITISH speedway chiefs are looking into claims that non-EU riders could be denied visas to ride in this country in 2015.
Reports this morning claimed that visas were being revoked by the UK Borders Agency, with the authority claiming that rulings regarding doubling up and guesting were not compliant with their rules.
If true, the action could affect the likes of skipper Troy Batchelor in the 2015 Swindon Robins team, although fellow Aussie Nick Morris does hold a British passport.
The British Speedway Promoters' Association said via Twitter this morning: "We are aware of reports regarding visa issues relevant to several riders and clubs for the forthcoming season.
"This is an ongoing matter and we intend to issue an update to clarify the situation in due course.''
The Advertiser understands that the BSPA are due to release a fuller statement on the matter later today.
