FORMER Town ace Gary Roberts is expected to miss facing his former side's visit to Chesterfield tonight as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury.

Forward Roberts came off the bench during the Spireites' 1-0 loss at Walsall on Saturday, but manager Paul Cook has indicated that he won't feature at the Proact Stadium tomorrow evening.

Cook told his club's official website: "I showed a bit of loyalty to Gary on Saturday because I love him. Gary got brought in at a time when this football club needed a lift and I look back to the goals against Fleetwood and certain goals last year when we won the league and he deserves that loyalty.

"He won't be back for a couple of weeks now, because he's got to get right. It can't be stop-start, we must get momentum and we must pick the same team for a bit."

Chesterfield's form has dipped of late with two draw and two defeats in their last four games.

But Cook said: "We'll pick a very attacking team to try and beat a very strong Swindon team. That's the job, I've said for a bit now that the balance in our team isn't right and I still maintain that today.

"In the space of a blink we've all just lost our wavelength a little bit. Swindon are a very strong team, but this league is about what you do.

"This is a massive game for us tomorrow night because if we win we look at the elite teams going up and if we lose we start looking down.

"If we win tomorrow and then beat Yeovil on Saturday we could be back in the playoffs- and then we'll get carried around the town because of how good we are. But if we lose the next two I'll be looking over my shoulder!"
