PEWSEY Vale were sent packing from the Sydenhams League Cup as they were swept aside by Premier Division Whitchurch United last weekend.
The Hampshire visitors threatened from the kick-off, forcing Vale goalkeeper Richard Payne to save from Ryan Lambert to prevent Nick Maggs’ men from falling behind.
Despite the home side growing into the tie, Payne was called into action again on the half-hour mark and five minutes later, Jamie Mansell struck to put Whitchurch in front.
Dan Phillips doubled the visitors’ lead with 58 minutes on the clock before Jack McCarthy killed off any hint of a Pewsey comeback as he made it 3-0.
Maggs’ men go to Andover New Street in the Salisbury Hospital Cup this weekend.
