CHIPPENHAM Park chief Dave Ferris has urged his players to keep playing their football and allow the goals to flow naturally.

Park were unable to make their dominance of possession count at Roman Glass St George last weekend, with Mark Robinson flicking home a header to level up the scores at 1-1 after Ferris’ men fell behind.

The Park boss says that his players have openly admitted that their finishing hasn’t been up to scratch but Ferris is certain that his team can go from profligate to prolific if they solider on.

“The players have admitted that it hasn’t been down to bad luck, it’s been bad finishing, but I think that sooner or later, a side if going to be on the end of all these missed chances and we’ll have a field day, so to speak,” said Ferris.

“At the end of the day, we’ve had 65 per cent of the game a Roman Glass but it was almost predictable in the way that we’d go up the pitch but wouldn’t score.

“They scored against the run of play but at the end of the game, they had a six or seven-minute spell and our goalkeeper Connor Johns had to make two good saves.”
