SWINDON Robins boss Alun Rossiter has picked out Swedish ace Simon Gustafsson as the important figure as his side prepare to launch their Elite League play-off semi final bid at Monday’s night’s first leg at Coventry.

Troy Batchelor’s victory in Thursday’s Elite League Riders’ Championship underlined that the skipper is in good nick.

Dakota North and number one Peter Kildemand also took to the track at King’s Lynn but finished well down the field, with Kildemand retiring from the meet.

Rossiter is confident that Kildemand, the club’s rider of the year when they lifted the title two years ago, will find his form against Coventry.

But he has picked out Gustafsson as a man who could make the difference.

“I mean obviously, Nick Morris and Dakota North are going to be important but Simon Gustafsson is one that needs to come to the party,” said Rossiter.

“I would like to see him perform, because if the others do what they have been doing and Simon does his thing then we will be well on our way.’’ Fresh from his King’s Lynn triumph, Batchelor will contest the Scandanavian Grand Prix in Stockholm tonight.

The Australian ace, fourth last time out in the Nordic GP two weeks ago is currently eighth overall, needing to retain or improve on that place to book his place in the 2015 series.
