CHIPPENHAM Town's search for a league win will stretch over the three-month mark after they were defeated at Bashley tonight.

Nathan Rudge's men, who haven't tasted victory since beating Kettering on December 1, saw their winless run go to 13 games, despite Lee Phillips' third goal in two games.

The visiting Bluebirds made a bad start when they fell behind on nine minutes, when Mark Gamble put the home side in front.

Six minutes later it got worse for Rudge's men as fellow frontman James Stokoe found the net.

Phillips, who scored twice in the 2-2 draw at home to Bedworth United on Saturday, handed the away side a lifeline just before the half hour when he halved the deficit.

But they were unable to find an equaliser and the result leaves them four points above the drop zone, having played more games than their closest rivals.
