FOOTBALL: Fixtures take another weather hit

LOCAL football clubs faced another day of festive frustration today as heavy rain again wiped out much of the weekend fixture list.

In the Toolstation League, Melksham Town's Premier Division trip to Wells City was an early casualty, while matches involving Devizes Town, Westbury United, Corsham Town and Warminster Town were also called off, as was Calne Town's derby clash with Bradford Town.

Frome Town's Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division match at home to St Albans City was postponed, with Hellenic League Division One West matches involving Malmesbury Victoria and Wootton Bassett Town and Pewsey Vale's Sydenhams League Division One meeting with Stockbridge also off.
