DEVIZES Town assistant manager Justin Webster is confident that his side has what it takes to notch up positive results in the Toolstation League First Division after an up and down week at Nursteed Road.

Last weekend, Devizes were humiliated 10-0 in the Les Phillips Cup at Premier Division Buckland Athletic, who reached the second qualifying round of the FA Cup earlier this season.

But on Tuesday evening, Mark Love’s side entertained league leaders Hengrove Athletic and earned a point after holding the Bristol outfit to a 2-2 draw.

“I think that it’s feeling a lot more like the team that myself and Mark have put together and with the players we’re bringing in, I’ve got every faith that we can start winning games – we inherited a lot when we came in to the club,” said Webster.

“Saturday was embarrassing and we have to hold our hands up because they were just so far ahead of us.

“They were at a different level and once we decided to give a few young lads a run out, they battered us.

“We got a great result on Tuesday against Hengrove but a point is still just a point and we need to start picking up wins in this league.”
