CALNE Running Club is set to begin its fourth beginners’ course from January 11.

The course will be delivered by the club’s volunteer, UKA qualified coach, Denise Nott, who is an experienced runner in her own right and competes at county level.

The cost of the course is £30 and it lasts for 10 weeks.

All proceeds are reinvested into the club to help them continue to support running and fitness in the Calne area.

Each beginner who completes the course will be awarded a bespoke CRC beginner’s medal and the opportunity to join the club at a discounted rate which has the added benefits of further progression runs and continued weekly coached sessions.

The course culminates at Chippenham Parkrun.

Nott said: “We have had much positive feedback on our previous courses from those who have never run before who have gone on to complete their first 10K or even half-marathon, those who have lost weight and gained in fitness and those who suffer mental health issues and have cited the course as being ‘life changing if not life-saving’.

“We have a UKA Mental Health Ambassador within the club who can help and support anyone who wants to run to help improve their mental well-being.’’ Anyone who wishes to join the course can do so online via Entry Central.

On the night entries are also welcome, with further information available on the Calne Running Club website under the Beginner’s page.
