COVINGHAM Park clinched victory at the Level Three County School Games Netball Finals, finishing ahead of Coombe Bissett and New Forest.

Eleven primary schools took part in the event, with pool A featuring Coombe Bissett, Grange, Larkhill, Minety, Shaw and Woodborough, while pool B consisted of All Cannings, Covingham Park, New Forest, Ramsbury and Wansdyke.

Following the pool rounds, the semi-finals took place with Shaw taking on Covingham Park and New Forest facing Coombe Bissett, the latter match being decided on golden goal following a draw after extra time.

The final was equally matched, with only one goal being scored resulting in Covingham Park being crowned this year’s champions, with Coombe Bisset runners up.

The event was run by Mo Squires, the chair of Wiltshire County Netball Association and a team of volunteers from Wiltshire County Netball Association, with Young Leaders from Years 10 & 11 at Sheldon School also helping.

Emily Harrson, Avon and Wiltshire’s Netball Development Officer from England Netball, said: “This year’s Hi 5 event was the most competitive we’ve had in recent years. There was some lovely netball on show throughout the day and some incredibly close games.''
