MALMESBURY youngster Louis Harvey is appealing for help to rev up his bid to follow in the tyre tracks of British racing greats Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

The 12 year old has been racing competitively since the age of eight and now competes in the Junior TKM class, against older and more experienced drivers, where he has notched up a number of podiums.

Harvey placed second in both the Midlands championships and South West championships weekend events, catching the eye of a number of team owners and earning him a move up to the Motors TV Super One TKM British Championship.

Father Chris and mum Charlene have been juggling the finances to add fuel to Louis’s ambitions, but they are now hoping for sponsors to come forward to help.

“This has resulted in both of us working two jobs and setting up our own sports clothing company to try and support everything,” said Chris. “But this is still never enough.

“We have had some kind personal donations via Louis pledge sports page but we still have a long way to go and only seven weeks left before the first Super One race.”

Louis said: “My dream in motorsport would be to be an F1 driver or a British Touring Car driver.

“I know I have to really work for it.

“Last year we raced almost every other weekend Saturday practise and Sunday racing plus additional practise days.

“Sponsorship will get me into Super One and help me achieve my goal of racing professionally when I am older.”

A sponsor will get their branding on Louis’ kart, which will feature on the Motors TV Super One series, and will be mentioned in all of the youngster’s online correspondence and social media outlets, which have several hundred followers.
