CHIPPENHAM’S Stanley Park Sports Ground hosted the Level Three Wiltshire and Swindon School Games football competition, with 30 schools taking part.
Three categories of competition were held, for small schools, large schools as well as a girls event.
Bellefield Primary, from Trowbridge, came through their girls competition semi final on penalties, but then came unstuck against Swindon’s Holy Cross School.
In the small schools event, Chapmanslade C of E Primary School came out on top, defeating Churchfields Junior School.
The larger schools competition saw St Peter’s C of E Academy, from Chippenham, end as the eventual winners after a hard-fought final against runners-up from Clarendon Junior School.
The event was organised by Tony Williams, Hon Secretary of Wiltshire Schools FA, and Adam Greaney, Senior Football Development Officer for Wiltshire FA. Young leaders from Pulse Football Academy, based at Stanley Park, refereed the games.
Wiltshire Schools FA president Adrian Riddiford said: “It was a very good day and great to see so many young people enjoying themselves.
“I was pleased to be able to spend some time at the event at Stanley Park, a great venue for such an event."
