CHIPPENHAM’S wait for a first GoCrea8 League Conference North win goes on as they succumbed 6-2 to visitors Firebrands A on Saturday.

Last season’s top goalscorers Mark Knight and Luke Morris were on target again for Chippenham, with goal keeper Harry Wells collecting the man of the match award for a number of fine saves.

Elsewhere in the division, Devizes claimed victory at home with a 2-1 success over Yate, Jacob Stoner among the scorers.

Marlborough maintained their perfect record in Central One as they won 4-1 at Robinsons B.

Handing first team debuts to Freddie Hazlitt, Mark Kinder and Mark Ramage, Marlborough took command with Rich Fynn and Anil Sud on target and although Robinsons pulled a goal back, Ramage and Fynn again wrapped up the points.

Chippenham A continued their unbeaten run in Central Two with a 4-2 victory away to Weston Super Mare.

Excellent keeping from keeper Leo Barker kept the home strikers at bay and goals from Tom Robinson, Henry Price, Andy Edwards and Marcus Vevey Chippenham B went down 8-0 to North Wilts side in East Central One., but Devizes A were 8-0 winners over City of Bath C, Alex Carter scoring his first three goals for the club.

Chippenham C returned to winning ways 3-1 at home in East Central Two against West Wilts D.

Having a goal for Ron Ousby disallowed, Chippenham fell behind but Stu Hill levelled before half-time.

In the second half Chippenham upped their work rate, with Owen Baldwin and Will Thomsett providing width and pace in midfield Hill latched on to a cross yo make it 2-1 and, with Chippenham controlling the midfield through Rick Law, Neil Stewart got a third with a well-struck shot from the top of the circle.

West Wilts threatened on the break and Jay Neal made several key saves to keep the home side on top before Chippenham missed a penalty stroke to close out the game.
