CHIPPENHAM suffered a second successive GoCrea8 League Conference North defeat away to a well-organised Robinsons A, losing 5-1.

Craig Kilminster scored for Chippenham in the second half, with a man of the match performance by James Glover.

Devizes are still searching for their first win of the season after slipping to a 3-1 defeat to Bristol University A.

In Central One, Marlborough maintain their good start to the campaign with a second successive win, seeing off hosts Sidmouth & Ottery 4-1.

Wootton Bassett registered their first point of the season as they were held 3-3 by City of Bath A Coming off the back of their opening 6-0 loss to Robinsons B, Bassett fell behind in the third minute but levelled when Mark Turner squared the ball to a diving Rob Appleby to find the net.

The home side quickly took the lead as Will Fieldsend played in Jake Nunns, who finished well but the see-saw nature of the game continued as Bath hit back to level almost immediately.

The second half saw both sides go close to taking the lead again, but eventually it was Bassett who went ahead again as Turner finished calmly with three minutes to go.

However, there was still time for Bath to restore parity and ensure the points were shared.

Chippenham A clinched a 4-1 win over Bristol UWE A in Central Two.

After a goalless first half, striker Chris Instone’s tap-in from a deflected short corner gave Chippenham the lead and Instone then bagged a second to stretch the advantage.

Further pressure on the UWE defence resulted in a further penalty corner, which was switched from the top of the D to a waiting Andy Edwards to strike the ball across goal to Luke Morris to delicately deflect the ball past the keeper.

Bristol responded, but Andy Stonham completed the win with a drag-flick effort which deflected in.

Chippenham B got off the mark in emphatic style in East Central One as they thrashed Marlborough B 7-1, Jay Collins, Chris Ware, Will Thompsett, Aaron Gray and Tim McKendrick among the scorers.

Elsewhere, Devizes A and Wootton Bassett A drew 2-2, while Marlborough A were 6-2 winners over City of Bath C.

In East Central Two, Chippenham C clinched their second away win of the season as they defeated Yate B 2-0, Rick Law and Ron Ousby finding the target.

Corsham were 8-0 winners over Chippenham D.

l MARLBOROUGH Ladies claimed a point from their West Clubs League East Division clash at Salisbury 2 after a 3-3 draw, Jess Pugh, Rachel Cox and Millie Dawson scoring.

Devizes were beaten 3-1 by Swanage & Wareham.

In Premier Division 2A, Chippenham were beaten 1-0 at home by Newent.
