WANBOROUGH wheelchair tennis ace Louise Hunt will be part of the British Paralympic squad in Rio.

The 25-year-old was also part of the GB squad for London 2012, where she was knocked out in the opening round, but admits she feels a lot more confident this time around after earning her chance to compete in the women’s singles.

“I feel more prepared for this one because I am playing well. I think it will be different to last time in London because I am towards the top of the list – I was at the bottom of the list last time. I am feeling good and a lot more confident,” she added.

The world number 12 has been playing well this year. Her tour of Asia in June saw her make an appearance at an ITF 1 Series event final at the Korea Open before losing 7-6, 7-6 to world number seven Diede De Groot.

She then went on to feature at Wimbledon and claimed her fifth doubles title of the year in July when she triumphed at the German Open in Berlin.

“I’m feeling good and I’ve been playing well. I would like to medal. That is a long-term goal of mine,’’ she added.
