URCHFONT teenager Polly Maton has been named among the 41 athletes added to Team GB's athletics team for the Paralympics in Rio in September.

The 16 year old, a Team Devizes (Moonrakers) Athletics Club member who trains out of the University of Bath with coach Colin Baross, joined a number of Paralympic, World and European medallists added to the Team GB party today.

Dauntsey’s School pupil Maton, a T46 (single below or above the elbow amputation category) 100m and 200m runner, will make her Paralympic debut in Rio, having reached the long jump final at the 2015 IPC World Championships in Doha.

Maton was named Wiltshire’s senior female athlete of the year at the 2015 Wiltshire Athletics Awards after becoming a triple world champion at the IWAS World Junior Games and a double gold medallist at the Brazilian Paralympic School Games, having only made her international debut in 2014.
