STEPHANIE Millward secured a golden finale to her IPC European Championships in Madeira by claiming two victories this evening.
The Corsham swimmer, 34, landed her first success of a busy week in Funchal by winning the S9 400m freestyle title, her second successive victory in the event.
Millward had already secured her place in this event at this summer's Paralympics in Rio by swimming 4:49.36 at the trials in Glasgow last month but comprehensively blitzed that time by clocking 4:45.71 today to secure a thumping victory ahead of Spain's Nuria Marques Soto and Hungary's Zsofia Konkoly.
The Wiltshire ace, who is training in Manchester ahead of the Paralympics, then helped Great Britian's 4x100m medley relay (34pts) team to gold later in the evening.
Millward, Susannah Rodgers, Harriet Lee and Claire Cashmore clocked 4:53.15 to finish ahead of Russia and Hungary.
Earlier in the week, Millward won the silver medal in the women's S9 100m backstroke and bronze in the women's S9 100m freestyle.
