WILTSHIRE teenager Pete Kibble finished ninth on the general classification in the Ras de Cymru stage race last week.
The second longest stage race in Britain, the senior event saw Kibble, who only moved into the junior category this year, riding for the Welsh junior development team.
His team finished 14th in the opening team time trial but on day two Kibble finished in the lead bunch a second behind the winner to move up to 19th overall.
An outstanding time trial on day three moved the youngster, from the hamlet of New Zealand near Calne, up to 15th overall and third in the King of the Mountains competition.
An eighth-placed finish on day four moved him up a King of the Mountains place and to 13th overall and finishing third on the final day in tough weather nudged him up the field again.
Kibble next takes part in the junior Tour of Ireland.
