ENTRIES are now open for this year’s Chippenham Half Marathon which will take place on Sunday, September 6.

The event, which is organised with Chippenham Harriers Runners Club was recently voted fourth in the Runners World Top 10 Half Marathons of 2014 and was ranked 20th in the country’s 50 Best Races.

Race Director Ian Wiggins said: “We pride ourselves on being an event organised by runners for runners, and are therefore delighted to again feature in Runners World Top 10 Half Marathons and we are working hard to make sure that this year’s event is equally successful’.

This event is ideal for first timers or experienced long distance runners, with a predominately flat route which goes through the centre of Chippenham and then follows scenic country lanes visiting local villages and hamlets including Tytherton Lucas, East Tytherton, Avon and Langley Burrell.

The event, which has raised £44,000 for charity since 2008, will this year raise funds for the Dorothy House Hospice Care, as well as other local charities and good causes.

This year’s race is being sponsored by local businesses John Williams Heating Services Ltd and Par Foods Limited.

Entries are £20 for affiliated runners and £22 for unaffiliated runners. Entry details and event information can be found at chippenhamhalfmarathon.co.uk.
