Marlborough Netball Club have been celebrating after taking Bronze position in the Sport England Satellite Club of the year awards ceremony recently held at the Houses Of Parliament.

Marlborough is the satellite club of Swindon-based Raychem, who have helped the club go from eight members to 38 in just 12 months.

And on Saturday, they secured their first win of the season in the Swindon Senior Netball League.

Playing against Delta Reds D, the girls played some fantastic netball.

The game was even in the first quarter but then in the second quarter, the shooting combination of Becca Strong and Freinet Evil came into their own.

Kayleigh Luker and Libby Howard were putting some great passes in to the two shooters.

The defensive trio of Flo Mason, Fi Bowering and Charlotte Klaiber were also effective and made numerous turnovers.

At halfp-time, Marlborough introduced Hannah Setter at GK and Lauren Benson at WD, and they helped the club take a 10-goal lead.

In the final quarter, Mollie Fisher returned to WA and linked well with the two circle shooters.

Delta Reds had a strong few minutes as Marlborough tired, but they hung on to claim a 25-17 win.
