MARLBOROUGH Ladies slipped to a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Hereford in their West Clubs League Premier Division 2A meeting on Saturday.

The home side took an early lead through Helen Way’s well-drilled short corner, but Hereford fought back to go into the lead, Alex Crosby-Jones also on target for Marlborough.

Chippenham held Gloucestershire side Newent to a 2-2 draw in Premier Division 2A, Sian Klukowski scoring twice for the visitors.

In the East Division, Wootton Bassett Ladies secured a 3-0 victory over Weymouth.

Tegan Buchanan scored the opening goal in the early stages after linking up with Suzanne Lello.

Good battling from Kelly Lusted and Katy Cox set up Helen Wright to fire home the second.

Just before the final whistle Abi Turner hassled Weymouth’s central defender and won a short corner, her hard work paying off when she got the deflection off a Cox strike.
