CHIPPENHAM’S Moonraker Gymnastics saw 34 members in action at the annual Wiltshire Floor and Vault competition in Melksham.

The club ended the day with three gold medallists and county champions, four silver medallists and four bronze medallists.

Moonraker’s seven-year-old gymnasts filled the top six spots in category A, Lauren Halliwell, Beatrice Carrington and Amelia Niker taking the top three positions, followed by Eva Falcone-Healy, Ellie Quaey and Ivy Palmer.

In the 8/9 years old age group, Megan Bates took silver medal, with teammate Carys Jones winning bronze.

Charlotte Tate and Arwen Lazarus performed tidy routines to take the gold and bronze medals respectively in the 10/11 age category A age group .

In Category B 8/9 age, Grace Langford and Laura Findlay were the standout performers, sharing fourth place in the overall standings. They were joined by Holly Parker, Isabel Watt, Hermione Powell and Chloe Searle.

Teigan Higgs finished in silver medal position in Category B (10/11 years).

Sophie Townsend finished in fourth and Ellie Kimber fifth out of 18 gymnasts in the 8/9 age category C. They were joined by Freya Gleed and Emily Macklin-Day.

At 10/11 years old, Amelia Scott finished sixth, with Alice Bellamy fourth in the 12/13 age group.

In Category D (10/11 age group) Emma Rhodes and Tegan Seed both competed well, while Grace Macklin-Day took silver medal in the 12/13 age group, just a point ahead of teammate Lizzie Drew who took bronze. They were joined by Ella Stiles, Jenny Francklin and Oriana Powell.

In the 14+ age group, Grace Bellamy was the club’s sole representative, finishing with bronze.

For the first time, Moonrakers saw boys representing the club in external competition, Callum Johnstone taking the gold medal and Liam Sullivan the silver in the 8/9 age group and Victor Baker the gold in the 10/11 age division.
