CHIPPENHAM’S Moonraker Gymnastics Club threw open its doors on Saturday to encourage support for their bid to build a purpose-built gymnastics facility in the town.

More than 40 of the club’s current development squad members took part in displays on equipment to show their impressive skills, with a group of older recreational participants performing a ‘Poi’ routine alongside Liza King, from Fitastics Circus skills group.

In addition to raising money for club funds, Moon rakers have revealed that they will be opening a satellite club in Corsham at the Springfield Leisure Centre starting on Tuesday, September 23.

Meanwhile, the club is hoping the public will back their bid to be awarded a grant of up to £3,000 from Lloyds Bank.

The club currently has 300 members taking part in regular activity with a further 250 on the waiting list.

If successful in their bid for a Lloyds Bank Community Fund grant, they will purchase new equipment and increase the number of places provided.

For more information about the Community Fund see lloydsbank.com/communityfund.

All enquiries regarding the new Corsham classes, or the club in general, should be made via swest@chippenhamgymnastics.co.uk.
