TOMMY Bridewell remains in the top six in the 2014 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship after solid points finishes at Oulton Park last weekend.

Bridewell, seeking to join teammate Josh Brookes in the end-of-season Showdown, clinched a seventh and eighth place.

He said: “To be honest I am disappointed with the results we have had as with the pace we have shown we should have achieved more.

“We are still inside the top six which is the important thing but we need to go back and look at how we can make those steps forward that will make the difference at Cadwell Park.”

Team co-ordinator Mick Shanley said: “Tommy has had a positive weekend really but, for whatever reason, we are just lacking a little bit in the races.

“Maybe the conditions didn’t play in to his favour and he wasn’t 100 per cent comfortable, but there is no doubting the pace that he has had in practice and qualifying.”
