NOW is the time to get your nominations in for our Sports Stars of Tomorrow competition organised with Devizes-based charity Bag4Sport Foundation.

The charity will hand out six grants to youngsters who need financial help to reach the top in their chosen sport.

Three winners will receive £500 each, with £100 each going to three runners-up.

Gemma Shepherd, 16, from Yatesbury, last year received the £500 as the North Wiltshire area winner and used some of her money to buy new running shoes and spikes.

She started the season well, retaining her 1500 metre title at the Wiltshire Schools Track & Field Championships held earlier this month.

In April the Sheldon School pupil helped her South West team to second place in the U17s’ race at the Virgin London Mini Marathon.

To be in the running to receive a grant of up to £500 get your parent, teacher or coach to fill in the form below or go to the Bag4Sport Foundation website bag4sport.co.uk or email foundation@bag4sport.co.uk.

All entries must be received by July 31. We will need to know why nominated person needs help and their achievements to date.

Any youngster up to the age of 16 can be nominated but they must not already be receiving a Lottery grant.

We will pick one winner and one runner-up from each of the three edition areas of the Gazette & Herald – Devizes, Marlborough and North Wiltshire.
