MARLBOROUGH Ladies wrapped up the West Clubs League North Division title and their second successive promotion with a 2-0 win over Lansdown on Saturday.

The home side started well, but Lansdown proved tough opponents before Alex Crosby-Jones weaved through the back line and scored with a stunning shot before half time.

The home side were well tested after the break, goalkeeper Vicky Moxham needing to be at her best.

But a timely pass to Crosby-Jones allowed her to start Marlborough’s celebrations with the second goal.

“Everyone’s dedication, commitment and passion, has surpassed all expectations.’’ There were also celebrations for Chippenham’s third team who clinched promotion to Wessex Division One with a 2-1 win over Team Bath Buccs 5.

Helen Franklin and Mary Derrick scored the goals for the visitors.

Chippenham’s fourth team enjoyed a thumping 14-0 win over Wells City Acorns in Wessex Division Three.

Ann Tweedale and Shauna Ford both scored four times each as Megan Hand netted twice. Ariane Nunan, Penny Edwards, Leigh Page and Lois Watts bagged the other goals.
