Wiltshire Womens Football League reports

Under 14 11-a-side: The battle for the league title continued apace this week with the three leading teams still in with a chance of the top spot.

A full programme saw leaders FC Chippenham Youth and Swindon Town Ladies play out a 2-2 draw.

Karen Gillingham provided both the goals for the home side, while Lucy Mitchell & Emily Barrett were on target for Chippenham. Swindon Badgers visited bottom side Wootton Bassett and came away from Ballards Ash with a convincing 7-0 victory, which allowed Badgers to close the gap to the leaders to 3 points. Likewise 3rd placed Derry Hill Thunder maintained the pressure with a resounding 10-1 victory over Chippenham Town Ladies at Stanley Park.

Under 14 7-a-side Trowbridge Town Youth extended their lead in the 7-a-side division with a 9-0 victory over Lavington Juniors. The win leaves Trowbridge needing just 2 points to clinch the title with 3 games remaining.

Under 13 Melksham Town Youth wrapped up the under-13 title this week when they scored five unanswered goals against FC Chippenham Youth at Christie Miller. Mary Wallington's hat-trick helped seal the title, with Abigail Footner and Ashley Berry completing the victory. The victorious team are pictured together with FC Chippenham in the attached photo. The result also confirmed that Trowbridge Town Youth will be runners-up.

Under 12 B Division Trowbridge Wanderers B wrapped up the runners-up position in the Under 12 B Division with a 5-0 victory against Lavington Juniors at Elisha Field in their final game of the season.

Under 11 Trowbridge Town took another step towards the under-11 title with a 6-3 victory over visitors Highworth Town, but with second placed Swindon Spitfires still having 7 games to play, Trowbridge still need a few more wins to wrap it up.

Under 10 The top two in the Under-10s remain neck and neck after Melksham Town Youth and Swindon Spitfires match ended in a 2-2 draw at the weekend. The two closely matched teams have now drawn two of their three encounters this season, but Spitfires maintain their slight advantage as they also inflicted Melksham's only defeat so far.
