PREMIER DIVISION PREVIEW: Derby day showdown at Littlemarsh

WITH just three games in the S.K. Fruits Ltd Chippenham Sunday League, Premier Division this weekend, all of them have the potential of being a classic.

Semington Rovers, who are looking for their first win of the campaign are scheduled to host near-neighbours and fierce rivals AFC Melksham, who have made a promising start to the new term.

Melksham narrowly won both games last term and current form suggests that Mike Rogers side will take the points for a third time.

But Semington will be out to be party poopers and if they can hit top form they have a good chance getting a draw from what should be another close game.

AFC Calne suffered a 3-1 defeat at FC Colerne and when the sides meet in the return fixture this Sunday the villagers will be odds-on to complete a quick fire double over their guests.

However Colerne who lost a WG Parr Trophy on the Avebury ground earlier this year will be wary of another upset at the hands of Calne as they bid to keep their impressive unbeaten run going.

The hosts shouldn’t be written off as they are capable of causing another upset but it truth it should be Colerne who pick up the points on offer.

The match of the day in the division should be the one at Meadow Lane between old foes Westbury Rangers and a Biddestone Social side who have not lost in four outings to Shaun Gardiner’s side.

Rangers have a new look to them this term and they will need to beat their guests if they are to have any chance of beating them to the title.

That may be easier said than done as Dan Lardner’s side have looked good in their opening two games.
