WG PARR TROPHY: West End deny Sportzcoach famous win

SECOND Division Chippenham West End came from behind to deny Division Four opponents Sportzcoach Dragonz United what would have been a famous victory in the first match of this season’s Westernsport Trophies-sponsored WG Parr Trophy.

Sportzcoach took a first-half lead when a long punt up field from their keeper caused havoc in the West End defence with the ball falling to Dan Kovacs whose neat finish put the underdogs into a shock, but deserved, lead.

West End got back on level terms when they were awarded a penalty which was converted by Ben Hibberd to make it 1-1.

West End’s winner came following a goalmouth scramble that saw Jason Lovell square to James Mulhall, who slotted home to give West End their place in the next round.
