CHIPPENHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE DIVISION FOUR PREVIEW: Derby day at Stanley Park

AFTER claiming a point from a thrilling draw with Trowbridge Rangers last weekend, FC United of Chippenham will be hoping they can build on that result when they host local rivals Oakhill FC at Stanley Park.

Oakhill, with just one win in nine their last nine outings, would love to avenge their 4-1 loss from the start of the season, but current form suggests another win for Dudley Philpott’s United side.

Second-in-the-table Sportzcoach Dragonz United will close the gap on leaders FC North Wiltshire to the odd point if they can get the better of Trowbridge Town Supporters Club at Stanley Park.

The Chippenham-based complex is another that hasn’t seen much football this term, but should the game get the green light Sportzcoach, who won the reverse clash, will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to six matches and claim a win to keep them in the fight for a top two placing.

Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) suffered an 8-3 loss when met Trowbridge Rangers back in early September, so they will be looking to avenge that loss at Sandfield this weekend.

Worton’s pitch has seen very little action since the rain first hit last November, if this game beats the elements it will only be the third home outing for Chris Cole’s side in four months.

Rangers have seen an improvement in recent weeks and that may just edge what promises to be an entertaining and high scoring game.
