CHIPPENHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE DIVISION THREE PREVIEW: Must-win game for Bremhill and Galaxy

Bremhill View Boys and PSC Galaxy will meet at Beversbrook, Calne, both needing victory for different reasons as the former battle to stay in theb third division and the latter try to get into Division Two.

Bremhill go into the game on the back of a 9-1 success over Cavalier and they know they must beat a Galaxy side who won the reverse fixture 4-3 if they are to beat the drop.

It will be a big ask as Galaxy need the points to stay in the promotion race and it is hard to see anything other than victory for Pete Huntley’s Galaxy side.

Basement side Cavalier need a miracle if they are to defy the odds to avoid what looks certain relegation.

Andy Holman’s side are have lost all 12 games to date and unless it can be 13th time lucky when they entertain Christian Malford their days in the division will be numbered.

Malford won the earlier meeting 7-4 and they should complete a double over their guests, however if they could keep things tight at the back an upset could be on the cards.

With their closest rivals Corsham Park Rangers in Subsidiary Cup action leaders FC Buscots have the chance to open up a four-point lead on Tim Spear’s side.

All they need to do is defeat Fortune Inn for a second time this term.

Buscots have won all 14 of their games to date, but although they beat Budge Hyland side 3-1 a few weeks ago, this will be a tough test for Buscots who will have to work hard for win number 15.

Both North Star B and Pig & Whistle United A should be safe from the drop unless fellow strugglers Bremhill View Boys and Cavalier can pull something out of the hat over the next month which is very unlikely.

Richard Allen’s Pig & Whistle side opened the campaign with a 1-0 win over Lee Lovelock’s side, Wayne Bailey scoring the only goal of the game.

North Star are unbeaten in six home matches and this game ought to provide them with the points that would secure the spot in the division for another season at least.
