CHIPPENHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Jager close gap on Biddestone

THE only game in the S.K. Fruits Limited Chippenham Sunday League Premier Division saw Barry Holloway’s title hopefuls FC Jager come from behind to claim a 4-2 win over near neighbours Semington Rovers and, in doing so, close the gap on leaders Biddestone Social to two points with a game in hand.

Sam Malone 25th-minute goal gave Semington a half-time lead, but Jager could have been on level terms had Ashley Groves not somehow fired the ball over from close range when it was easier to score.

Jager restored parity on 55 minutes through Dan Moore, but two minutes later Matty Russell regained the lead for Semington, but once again Jager were able to fashion an equaliser thanks to a second of the morning for Moore.

Luke Smith put Jager in front for the first time in the contest and it was left to Gary Higdon to wrap up the important win for Jager to keep them in the title hunt.

MATCH OFF: Westbury Rangers v FC Colerne.
