CHIPPENHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE DIVISION FOUR PREVIEW: North Wilts look to stretch lead at the top

FC NORTH Wiltshire, who currently have a three-point lead over Old Road at the top of the Division Four table, will take a huge step to securing a top two placing if they beat FC United of Chippenham at Stanley Park this weekend.

United, who ended a four-match losing run last weekend, have already suffered a 7-2 loss at the hands of the leaders and it would be a surprise if North Wilts didn’t pick up maximum points for a 12th time this term with another convincing win.

Crossblades, who have lost just twice in 10 outings, will be hoping that they can keep their excellent run going when they play host to another one of the division’s in-form sides this Sunday.

Tim Chilton’s side face a Trowbridge Town Supporters Club who have won their last five games, but have played just once so far in 2013.

If the formbook is anything to go by the match could be a thriller. Honours were shared last term with one win apiece but this seasons first encounter between the sides is too close to call and has a good chance of ending all-square.

Trowbridge Rangers (Sunday) and Melksham Cosmos go into their meeting at Whaddon Lane on the back of a defeat.

With just one win in 11 games Rangers find themselves bottom of the table but Michael Goddard’s hosts will fancy their chances of getting something from what they will see as a winable game.

Cosmos will start as favourites for victory but it wouldn’t be a surprise if the game ended in stalemate.

Sportzcoach Dragonz United are breathing down the necks of Old Road and FC North Wiltshire and an a look at the standings would suggest they will continue to put pressure on top two with a victory over Worton & Cheverell (Sunday).

However, Worton beat Old Road twice this term and will be out to cause another shock in a game they shouldn’t really win.
