CHIPPENHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE DIVISION ONE PREVIEW: Corsham look to make up ground on Renegades

WITH Division One leaders Bradford Renegades in cup action, second-placed Corsham United will look to make up ground on Lance Davis' side when they visit North Star A who, despite being bottom of the table, could be looking forward to the meeting at Beversbrook.

Liam Westland’s hosts claimed a 3-3 draw with Kia Flack’s men on the opening day of the season, but things went down hill after that for Westland’s men, who have yet to win a game.

Things are unlikely to change as Corsham will be favourites to bounce back after their recent loss to Prestige.

Near-neighbours Bromham (Sunday) and Castle FC are set to meet for a second time this season and, having already taken maximum points from Bromham in the previous encounter, in-form Castle side, who have won four of their last five matches, will be confident of following up their 5-3 win from the middle of November to claim a fourth straight win over the villagers.

Five successive wins have helped FC Boroughs get themselves back into the promotion race, but they face a tricky game this weekend when they host Steeple Ashton Rangers.

Rangers may have suffered a 5-2 defeat when the team clashed back in early December but they are more than capable of denying Boroughs another two points in their guest to reach the top flight.

Although Boroughs should take the points, Ashton are tipped to get a draw from their long trip to Sherston.
