WILTSHIRE SUNDAY CUP: Fortune seek Melksham upset

THE Chippenham Sunday League are certain to have at least one side representing them in the semi-finals of this seasons Wiltshire Sunday Cup after Fortune Inn and AFC Melksham were paired together in the quarter-final line-up.

On paper, Mike Rogers Premier Division chargers Melksham, who have caused a couple of shocks of their own, should have a trouble-free passage into the last four.

But Fortune, who have nothing to lose, will be looking to upset the odds and if Rogers' men take them too lightly their Sunday cup dreams could end at this stage.

Premier Division leaders Biddestone Social will entertain Swindon League fourth division side The Running Horse as they bid for a place in the semi-finals.

Social hammered Cedars Bar in the last round, but they may be given a harder time by their guests to Yatton Road who are unbeaten in 12 games.

Cup holders FC Jager will be hoping that it be third time lucky when and they can at last play their delayed third round tie against Rodbourne FC.

Jager know that if they beat Rodboune then they will face New Century WMC for a place in the last four.

Out of the Knockout Cup, Jager will want to put in a good performance as they bid to retain the Sunday Cup.

But unless Barry Holloway has his star names available the holders have a chance of exiting the competition at this stage.
