TOOLSTATION LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION: Calne Town 2 Cheddar 1

CALNE claimed three home points after being pushed hard by the Toolstation League newcomers.

Goalkeeper Steve Allison had to be alert to tip a shot on to the woodwork inside the opening minute as the visitors started well, but Jordan Roberts header and Levi Cox's shot went close for the Lilywhites.

Just after the half hour, Jordan Roberts linked up with Alex Rigley and Dan Lardner to fired Calne into the lead.

Rigley again went close but before half time, Jonny Davoile was fouled and Greg Tindle stepped up to fire a superb free kick into the net.

Cheddar fought back in the second period and Matt Connick halved the deficit three minutes after the restart.

Roberts and Davoile went close later in the half as Calne pushed unsuccessfully for a third.
