FOOTBALL: Love returns to Devizes
11:37am Thursday 24th May 2012 in Football
Mark Love has been reappointed as Devizes Town manager less than six months after first leaving the club.
The ex-Shrivenham boss resigned from his post at Hellenic League Witney Town earlier this month and will return to Nursteed Road for the new season after leaving Devizes by mutual consent last December.
Caretaker boss Jamie Bayes, who took charge of the club for the second half of last season after Love's departure, will assist the returning Town boss.
A club statement read: "Devizes Town FC have reappointed Mark Love as first team manager for the new season, starting in August 2012.
"Mark left the club last year for personal reasons but when Jamie Bayes decided to step down as interim manager, we had discussions with several potential managers locally they all had various requests.
"All had attributes to bring to the club but we felt that Mark was our best option to take the club forward.
"Mark was available after a short spell managing back in the Hellenic League and felt he had unfinished business at Devizes Town; hence the appointment.
"Mark will be assisted by a few ex-local players and managers, including Jamie Bayes, in developing the team with talent from Devizes and the surrounding areas.
"We thank the interest from other managers and wish Mark and his team good success in getting Devizes Town back on the map."
