TOOLSTATION LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION: Calne Town 1 Hengrove Athletic 0

Calne Town's strong finish to the season continued as they moved up to third in the Toolstation League First Division with their fourth straight win last night.

Tyler Sibbick had the first shot on goal tne minutes in but it was well saved by Hengrove Atheltic keeper Courtney Redwood.

13 minutes into the secon period, Calne took the lead when Sibbick took the ball to the right-hand byline and cut the ball back across for Glenn Armstrong to head home from close range.

The visitors ran out of steam as the second half progressed and a 78th minute through ball from Ryan Welland put Armstrong through but his shot was pushed wide by the visiting keeper.

Nine minutes from time, Dan Lardner was put through to shoot but his shot was deflected by striker Armstrong, only to hit the left-hand upright and ricochet across the goalmouth before being cleared to safety.

Jeff Roberts and Drew Youngsam's Lilywhites host Premier Division Willand Rovers in the semi-finals of the Les Phillips Cup this weekend before a tough trip to Bradford Town next Monday.

They also play Welton Rovers next Wednesday before the final of the Wiltshire Senior Cup against Bemerton Heath Harlequins on April 21.
