CORSHAM Town manager Colin Bush believes his side's lack of fixtures could count against them when they play Devizes Town on Wednesday.
By the time Corsham come to play their Toolstation Premier League rivals they will have gone 18 days without kicking a ball in a competitive match.
Originally Corsham had been scheduled to play Exmouth Town, who have since had their fixtures suspended following financial problems, and tried to arrange their Les Phillips Cup match with Frome Town, who have since chosen to host Welton Rovers in the league.
Bush believes his side will suffer for their enforced break.
He said: "It's too long a break. We had got ourselves into a six match winning run and then we've come up against a brick wall.
"At this stage of the season you need to play week in, week out.
"It was a massive blow when we could not play Exmouth, which could upset our Christmas preparations.
"The pitches are getting wet and it's not easy to train so you want your midweek games so you can keep playing football.
"It could mean we are sluggish at the beginning of the Devizes match. It's down to me to make sure that does not happen."
Bush praised Devizes boss Nathan Sheridan for turning their fortunes around after a poor start.
He said: "I know Nath from my time at Calne and he served me and Tommy well.
"I know he will do a good job at Devizes if he is given the time, and he will do it right. He has a young side that are working for him.
"They are in a rich vain of form at the moment and they need not have any encouragement from us not playing."
